Providing Support and Expertise to a Tech Start-up

A very interesting client, this start-up SME is a privately owned, newly incorporated UK company in the process of launching a mobile application helping users find convenient parking. A pilot of the application was already available on Apple and Google store and was being further tested throughout the UK. Maltese owned, the company estimated future gross turnover could reach €3,000,000-€5,000,000 per year.

Client's challenge

As a newly incorporated UK start-up, this company required a range of skills and assistance from an expert accountancy practice with experience of working with international businesses. Their prerequisites included a range of accounting and tax services, including advice and assistance on statutory and tax issues and the implementation of effective bookkeeping systems, whilst maintaining open lines of communication and ongoing support to their accountant.

The Outcome

Given our extensive communication with third party providers, we were able to arrange successful introductions to UK banks and insurance companies. By providing full service support for this tech start-up, we have been able to guide them towards growth and ongoing success, with services relating to bookkeeping, accounts, VAT and corporation tax preparation, payroll as well as overall advice and support. The quality of our delivery based service has resulted in our ongoing appointment by this client.

How were we best placed to assist?

We have expertise in working with both small, newly incorporated businesses as well as large group companies, with services always focused on building strong and ongoing professional relationships. We understood that this client not only required knowledge and expertise, but also a supportive, personal approach. In order to make sure these needs were met, we appointed a key account manager for this client. The manager would oversee meeting of the financial reporting deadlines, provide general accounting and tax support, as well as monitor the meeting of statutory requirements – all whilst communicating with the client directly. We also assisted with the establishment of an efficient bookkeeping system, and organised VAT registration of the client with HMRC.
